My son loves this bible。

This book contains the Word of God。 It took me almost ten months to read this Bible, cover to cover! I am very proud that I have read every page!It is uncanny how, at least 50% of the time, what I was reading I could relate to my life, at that very moment!I am now reading the Study Guide to this edition of the Bible!I recommend that you read the Bible too! It has surely changed me for a better person; I understand my faith more and have discovered that I have lots more to learn!

This is an easy read Bible。 It reads like a story & was my first physical Bible & I loved it

This Bible has many great features。 The NIrV is a third-grade level and makes understanding a lot easier。 Meanwhile, the pictures and the stories on the back of the pictures are perfect for reading to the kids。 And for really young (<3 yrs)。。。only read the words on the stories that are highlighted in bold。 I'm glad to find this copy, and I'm hoping to find more。 This Bible has many great features。 The NIrV is a third-grade level and makes understanding a lot easier。 Meanwhile, the pictures and the stories on the back of the pictures are perfect for reading to the kids。 And for really young (<3 yrs)。。。only read the words on the stories that are highlighted in bold。 I'm glad to find this copy, and I'm hoping to find more。 。。。more

Hands down best Bible for kids。 Along with God's word, the authors have added fun ways for kids to learn and relate the stories to their lives。 Just look at the cover! This is the way to get kids excited to read the Bible and apply the lessons in life。 Hands down best Bible for kids。 Along with God's word, the authors have added fun ways for kids to learn and relate the stories to their lives。 Just look at the cover! I think that this is a good version of the Bible for older kids and probably teenagers。 It’s easy to read and it’s a translation rather than a paraphrase。 Recognize that it’s a version for reading rather than in-depth studying the Bible and then it will work great。 I’m glad that I read this version。

We read selections from this bible throughout our 3rd grade year。 I appreciate the easy 'readers' way the translation comes across, however tend to stay with NIV or KJV for memory work so we all know the verse wording the same。 We read selections from this bible throughout our 3rd grade year。 I appreciate the easy 'readers' way the translation comes across, however tend to stay with NIV or KJV for memory work so we all know the verse wording the same。 。。。more

This NIrV Bible is a continuation of the style from the author's Love Letters from God picture books。 This Bible is a full Bible text in the NIrV translation。 There's a short "how to use this Bible" page before the table of contents, then an explanation of the translation, and then it goes straight into Genesis。 We love the NIrV translation, so reading this Bible remains enjoyable。 About once a book (or twice for some books), readers find a short "love letter from God" written in the same style This NIrV Bible is a continuation of the style from the author's Love Letters from God picture books。 This Bible is a full Bible text in the NIrV translation。 There's a short "how to use this Bible" page before the table of contents, then an explanation of the translation, and then it goes straight into Genesis。 We love the NIrV translation, so reading this Bible remains enjoyable。 About once a book (or twice for some books), readers find a short "love letter from God" written in the same style as the picture books, written from the perspective of God talking to the reader (referring to the reader as "you")。 The letters often reiterate something read in the Bible text and ask questions for reflection as well as restate aspects of God's love。 Each letter concludes with a highlighted verse。 Beside each letter, readers have about one vertical third of the page to "write back" to God and respond to the suggestions reflection questions。 These reflections often ask "have you ever。。。" questions to relate the biblical material to the reader's current life or ask "how do you feel" about a truth introduced。As with any Bible with interpreted devotions, I suggest reading and analyzing these devotions/reflections together with your child/students as not all interpretations may fully fit your family/church's theology。 Additional features:-three full-color inserts (front and back pages) with additional information or highlighting important aspects of faith and study, including the ten commandments, definitions, 'how to pray,' a 'getting to know Jesus' summary, and more。 Each of these pages has a "Write Back" sidebar with questions for writing reflection。 We particularly liked the "how to pray" page。 It makes prayer accessible for all and less daunting for kids unsure of where to start。-a dictionary in the back-full color maps in the back-an attached ribbon bookmarkThis isn't a study bible since it does not contain other sidebars or introduction/summary information at the beginning of each book。 But it's also not meant to be a study bible。 Its main purpose seems to be for reading and reflection on what the words of God mean about God and about our relationship with God。 This bible serves its purpose well, so it's a fine addition to any family library。 If you are looking for one main bible for kids to use for both study and reflection, you may find other study bibles better able to suit your needs。 Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher as a part of the BookLook bloggers program。 All opinions expressed are my own and this is my honest review。 。。。more

I received a copy of Love Letters from God Holy Bible NIrV, and once again, I am impressed with the Bibles Zonderkidz produces for children。This book contains the complete text of the New International Reader’s Version of the Bible alongside letters for the reader which are formatted to be “written by God”。The idea of God writing letters directly to the child is fun and a creative way to engage young children with Biblical text。 Unlike some other children’s Bibles that only have a few inserts th I received a copy of Love Letters from God Holy Bible NIrV, and once again, I am impressed with the Bibles Zonderkidz produces for children。This book contains the complete text of the New International Reader’s Version of the Bible alongside letters for the reader which are formatted to be “written by God”。The idea of God writing letters directly to the child is fun and a creative way to engage young children with Biblical text。 Unlike some other children’s Bibles that only have a few inserts throughout, there are 80 letters throughout the book plus other bonus content like full-color inserts and writing prompts。The letters encourage personal reflection and offer greater understanding of selected verses。 By encouraging children to write their own letter to God, children are offered a different way to connect with God and the scripture。Something to perhaps keep in mind, is to make sure children understand the letters aren’t really from God and those aren’t his true word, but they are a lovely way to facilitate his word and interpret it for children。This Bible would be great for church libraries, children’s church and other church lessons for younger children。Thank you to Zonderkidz and Booklook Bloggers for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

When you first see this bible you are intrigued, even as an adult。 The cover is nicely done and eye catching。 My children are teens and they thought the cover was fun。 The Bible suggests ages up to 10 however I feel this bible is better suited to the older ages。 It's more of a "take with me to Church" bible vs a study bible or a read at bed time Bible。 My teens thought it was cute and said they'd take it with them just because it "isn't the same old cover"。 Inside the bible is not written with s When you first see this bible you are intrigued, even as an adult。 The cover is nicely done and eye catching。 My children are teens and they thought the cover was fun。 The Bible suggests ages up to 10 however I feel this bible is better suited to the older ages。 It's more of a "take with me to Church" bible vs a study bible or a read at bed time Bible。 My teens thought it was cute and said they'd take it with them just because it "isn't the same old cover"。 Inside the bible is not written with smaller children in mind, at least not small children。 This is a New International Readers Version Bible, therefore it is easier for some to read, however it is still a little advanced, IMHO, for the younger children。 There are several pages with fish on them and highlights from the Bible such as the 10 Commandments, I found these were great for any age。 I do recommend this Bible to anyone looking a new way to interest your kids in reading their Bible and learning more from it and about it。 It would make a wonderful gift。 *I wanted to come back in to add, after much thought, I feel this is a good fun Bible and easy to read, however I do NOT think it should be your only source of learning the Word of God。 While this is a cute Bible I am not a fan of the NIV Bibles or the NIrV Bibles or devotionals。 I feel all readers should first and foremost understand the KJV。 Changing a small simple word can change the whole feeling of the Bible and I think for that reason while this is a cute Bible and would be good for those who want to share the Bible with kids it should NOT be the only source for learning the Bible。* 。。。more

Zonderkidz has come up with one, a beautiful hardback Bible geared for children aged six to ten。 The cover itself is really eye catching with lots of brightly colored, glittery ocean life and fish。 The translation is one made for kids, too。 It is the New International Reader's Version or NlrV, the NIV for kids。When this Bible is first opened, there is a beautiful presentation page made of heavy weight paper。 It is colorful, and contains more ocean-theme characters。 The back of the page contains all the books of the Bible, along with ocean-life decorations。What this Bible has to offer for children is very appealing。 There are three special sections geared toward children, and they are one page each。 Each of those pages, front and back, are incredibly cute with lots of eye appeal, and contain things geared just for kids。 Those pages, which are full color and made of heavy weight paper, contain:- Prayer Is。。。- The Lord's Prayer- Ten Commandments For Kids (Based on Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:7-21)- Love Passage For Kids (Based on 1 Corinthians 13)- Famous Children Of The Bible- The ABCs Of Becoming A ChristianAt the back of the volume, there is a list of Great Bible Stories along with a Bible Dictionary, but those are not printed on the special heavy-weight paper。 There are no other pictures, maps or other supplemental material included in this Bible。 Also, other than the presentation page along with the three special page inserts, the type of paper used for this Bible is the regular, very thin, onion-skin type of paper used in traditional Bibles。 My concern is that six to ten year-old-fingers might have trouble turning those pages without tearing them。 Zonderkidz has done lots of things right in this Bible。 They have kept it affordable with a suggested price of $24。99。 Having a special version of the text geared towards children is also a wonderful idea。 The cover is amazing, and the three supplemental pages are eye catching, and wonderfully creative, but that is where things stop。 Since this is geared towards children, I would have liked to have seen at least six to nine or more "special" colorful pages in this Bible, along with a least one colorful map--more would be even better。 There is a lot that is good in this 4 star Bible, but I think a little bit more would have made this a great Bible for children。The publisher has provided bookreadingtic with a complimentary copy of The Under the Sea Holy Bible, through Zondervan Publishing for the purpose of review。 I have not been compensated in any other manner。 All opinions expressed are my own, and I was not required, or influenced, to give anything but an honest appraisal。 I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255。 。。。more

Won't she search carefully until she finds the coin? And when she finds it, she will call her friends and neighbors together。 She will say, 'Be Joyful with me。 I have found my lost coin。' I tell you, it is the same in heaven。 There is joy in heaven over one sinner who turns away from sin。"(Page 956 NIrV Thinline Bible Copyright 2014)As you can see content and meaning are not lost, it is simply more readable for those young and enthusiastic learners。This Bible is not packed with a ton of extra features but I find that to be a bonus。 It does not add the excess weight and materials that may not useable by this age group。 The bonus materials that are included are simplistic and power packed。 They welcome young readers to swim along with ocean friends as they explore the Biblical concepts。 My Favorite Bonus Features: *Colorful Picture with the Books of the Bible *A simplified five finger prayer guide *Ten Commandments for Kids *ABC's of Becoming a Christian *Dictionary explaining a few key terms *Reference to 92 Great Bible StoriesI enjoy this Bible and have spent many years teaching young children and would have loved to have a Bible just like this。 。。。more

This Bible has some pros and cons to it。 Of course, having the Word of God in an easy to understand version is the very best feature, and the book has a strong, durable cover that will hold up to daily use。 But, the cover is more likely to appeal to the younger end of the age it is intended for (6-8 year olds) who aren't quite up to the reading level。 By the time a child can handle the reading, the cover seems a bit garish。 I remember the Bible I received when I was 6。 I loved it, but it was 2 o This Bible has some pros and cons to it。 Of course, having the Word of God in an easy to understand version is the very best feature, and the book has a strong, durable cover that will hold up to daily use。 But, the cover is more likely to appeal to the younger end of the age it is intended for (6-8 year olds) who aren't quite up to the reading level。 By the time a child can handle the reading, the cover seems a bit garish。 I remember the Bible I received when I was 6。 I loved it, but it was 2 or 3 years before I truly appreciated the words and was able to comprehend。 It is basically a regular Bible and that in itself is wonderful, but I feel like the cover and inserts are more for marketing than an attempt to put things at a child's level。 I am also disappointed that there are no maps。 That was my favorite part of my first Bible when I first got it。 But, the fact that it lies flat instead of pages flipping when you are reading it is a major plus。 Overall, there is more to like about the Under the Sea Bible, so I would like to give it 3。5 stars。 Without the cover, 4。25。I received a copy of this product at no cost to myself from FlyBy Promotions。 。。。more

The first thing that catches your eye with this Bible is the cover。 It reminds me of Finding Nemo, and the glittery additions to the undersea creatures makes me think of Rainbow Fish。 Since both of these are popular with children in the target age group, I think the cover will be a huge hit。 The fact that it is a hardcover, and more durable, is also a plus with young readers, who are not always the most dutiful caretakers of books。The color inserts also contain undersea-related artwork to draw t The first thing that catches your eye with this Bible is the cover。 It reminds me of Finding Nemo, and the glittery additions to the undersea creatures makes me think of Rainbow Fish。 Since both of these are popular with children in the target age group, I think the cover will be a huge hit。 The fact that it is a hardcover, and more durable, is also a plus with young readers, who are not always the most dutiful caretakers of books。The color inserts also contain undersea-related artwork to draw the young readers attention, and then they each share some quality information about God。 I especially liked the page which presents the Ten Commandments in language which children can easily understand (although I think that the 9th one, which is written as "You may not tell lies, especially when that lie will hurt someone else," could have stopped at "You may not tell lies。")If you, like me, are unfamiliar with the NIrV (New International Reader's Version), it is based on the New International Version (NIV), which is currently the most used version of the Bible。 The NIrV is for beginning readers, so it has shorter sentences and uses shorter words which are easier to understand。 That makes it an excellent Bible for a young child who is anxious to read on their own。I intend to give this Bible to my 6 yr。 old grandson to replace his Preschooler Bible (which he can soon pass on to his younger sister)。**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own。** 。。。more

Children will find the outside cover and the special insert pages appealing。 The art work is fun, shiny, and glittery。 The information on the inserts is good, but for me they didn't give enough information on becoming a Christian。 I liked the pages on prayer and love。 As far as the NIrV, I appreciate the explanation of how the writers came up with their version。 They do refer to the NIV translation, but do some simplification of the more elaborate language to create an easier to read version。 I Children will find the outside cover and the special insert pages appealing。 The art work is fun, shiny, and glittery。 The information on the inserts is good, but for me they didn't give enough information on becoming a Christian。 I liked the pages on prayer and love。 As far as the NIrV, I appreciate the explanation of how the writers came up with their version。 They do refer to the NIV translation, but do some simplification of the more elaborate language to create an easier to read version。 I also like the list of Bible stories and the dictionary in the back。 This would be a good beginner Bible for a young person with the understanding that it is not a direct translation。I received this in exchange for a fair review。 。。。more

This is a very eye catching cover。 It reminds me of The Disney cartoon movie Finding Nemo。 I do think the bright colors and cartoons would appeal to children as this is designed for ages 6 to 10。 It comes in hardback which means it will also be very durable which is usually a plus for this age range。 As you open the book the first page is a colorful presentation page and on the flip side a colorful bookshelf with the books of both the old and new testament。 Each book is written on the spine of t This is a very eye catching cover。 It reminds me of The Disney cartoon movie Finding Nemo。 I do think the bright colors and cartoons would appeal to children as this is designed for ages 6 to 10。 It comes in hardback which means it will also be very durable which is usually a plus for this age range。 As you open the book the first page is a colorful presentation page and on the flip side a colorful bookshelf with the books of both the old and new testament。 Each book is written on the spine of the book and categorized by what each section teaches。 For instance, the first five books of the old testament are listed under law whereas the next 12 books are listed under history。 There is a table of contents, an alphabetical order listing for the books of the bible, and a brief introduction about the New International Reader's Version。 There are three colorful inserts。 The first is designed to explain what prayer is and how to go about praying。 On the back is the Lord's prayer and explains that Jesus taught us to pray by example。 The second colorful insert is the ten commandments for kids。 It is written in easy to understand language that's appropriate for children。 On the back is Love Passages for kids which is based on 1 Corinthians 13 with again easy to understand language。 The third colorful insert talks about famous children in the bible and what books you can find their stories in。 On the back is listed the ABCs of Becoming A Christian。 At the end of the bible you will find a dictionary to the New International Reader's Version。 Lastly there's a list of great bible stories with what books each story is located。 If you have a young child who enjoys the ocean and sea life then this would be a perfect gift。 All throughout the bible it's self is easy to read and understand for a child。 I think the biggest plus is that it's so easy to understand。 Many children can read, but can they comprehend what they are reading。 It appears to be written like a story which will pull a child's interest in。 The pages are thin, but then again all bible pages are thin。 The size would fit easily into a child's hand for reading or carrying around。 I do think this would be a perfect gift for a child。 Yes, the younger (age 6) might need assistance in exactly how to use it at first, but it would still be a great gift。 *I received this book free from the publisher through BookLook Bloggers book review program。 I was not required to write a positive review。 The opinions I have expressed are my own。 。。。more
